When it comes to choosing from the different types of hairstyles there are out there, it isn’t always an easy decision to make. Of course you have to look at what style suits your face; whether you would look good with a bob, or if your hair is long and straight then maybe a short shoulder length cut would suit you. Having curly hair can sometimes be difficult to work with, but you are sure to find a style that would suit you perfectly, curly hair and all. Men are slightly easier when it comes to their hair as they generally have short hair, but with women it is more of a scenario.

What many women do is they page through one of those weddings magazines and look at all the different types of hairstyles the gorgeous brides had for their special day. This gives them ideas to work with and as any hairdresser will tell you, it’s easier to do the hair when the clients know more or less what they want done. A bob was always in the fashion and it still is in many places; women and girls have their hair cut like this as it compliments many different face shapes and looks good on almost anyone. When you are paging through one of the weddings books and you find something you like, take the picture to your hairdresser and see what they can do for you.

There is a lot you can do with long hair, and even so for ladies who have lengthy locks. If you have longer hair, and don’t want to cut it but want to try something different, you should consider having it braided. This is something that many African ladies, among others love to do and they do it so well. You don’t have to be an African to braid your hair, but if you can find an African lady to do it for you, you won’t be disappointed! Choosing from the different types of women’s hair styles doesn’t have to be that difficult, ask your hairdresser what will suit your face best.

A PayPal account phishing scam email very similar to the ABSA bank scam reported is circulating around South Africa and has been for some time now. The mail is sent to thousands of random people around the country at any given time and asks the person to click on a link which takes them to a specific web page. Although to the trained eye and regular Internet users this hoax is quite obvious there are many that will enter personal credit card details and other private information online when prompted to do so. Be warned, if you fall for scams such as this you could fall victim to online crime and end up losing a lot of money.

The specific scam about updating a PayPal account circulating around South Africa that we are referring to looks something like this:

Dear PayPal client
——————————————————————————–

Closing Accounts and Limiting Account Access
This is your official notification that your account has been Limited. We recently reviewed your credit card and it seems that you are using the same credit card for 2 accounts. As you can read in our User Agreement ( section 5.11 ) opening multiple accounts is strictly forbidden. You are now requested to provide information relevant to your account. PayPal will investigate the matter promptly and if the investigation is in your favor, we will restore your account.

How can I restore my account access?

Click here and complete the steps to remove limitations.

Completing all of the checklist items will automatically restore your account access.

Thank you for using PayPal !
The PayPal Team

Copyright © 2009 PayPal Inc. All rights reserved. Designated trademarks and brands are the property of their respective owners

Please do not reply to this e-mail. Mail sent to this address cannot be answered. For assistance, log in to your Pravex Bank account and choose the “Help” link in the footer of any page.

As you can see, the mail informs the user that they have entered details of the same credit card for two accounts. Upon clicking the provided link a user will be taken to a web page where they must rectify the situation by providing personal details in order for account limitations to be removed. Once again, DO NOT fall for this and NEVER enter any personal details online after clicking on a link in an email notification. Entering any personal information into the web pages you are redirected to will almost certainly result in identity theft or other types of Internet fraud.

There are others floating around imposing to be from South African banks such as FNB, Nedbank and Standard Bank, but these banks will never ask you to click on a link and then provide personal information online. Whether you have an ABSA account, any of the other major bank accounts or a PayPal account in South Africa, be very alert to these email phishing scams doing the rounds and where possible, inform friends and family that regularly use the Internet.

Criminals often send out hoax phishing scams in an effort to trick you into thinking they are from ABSA bank and in order to try and capture your personal details. Be very careful, ABSA will not ask you to click on a verification link in an email and then request your PIN number, telephone number, account details etc on the webpage that the link takes you to. There are some virus protection programs that can filter out these mails or warn you about a web page after you have clicked on an email link but the best thing is just to be aware of these mails doing the rounds.

If you receive an email from what looks like ABSA bank and it seems to be official but reads something like the following, do nothing except delete it. You can phone the bank as well to be 100% sure.

Dear ABSA Bank customer,

This email was sent by the ABSA Bank server to verify your ABSA Internet Banking account. You must complete this process by clicking on the link below and entering your account information. This is done for your protection, because some of our members no longer have access to their online access and we must verify it. To verify your e-mail address and access your account, click on the link below.

https://ib.absa.co.za/ib/ib.jsp

Please fill in the required information.
This is required for us to continue to offer you a safe and risk free environment.

Thank you
Accounts Management
Copyright © 2009 ABSA Bank

This is just one example of many variations these online criminals are using. There are others and some of them pretending to be from other major SA banks such as Standard Bank, Nedbank and FNB and in each instance you can phone your local branch but they will all tell you the same thing, do not click on the link and delete the email. Sadly many people are caught out by these types of scams online and identity theft, in particular with the ABSA bank phishing scam methods used as there have been so many of them.

Identify a phishing scam email which looks as though it has been sent by FNB, Standard Bank, Nedbank or Absa by following one golden rule: NEVER send personal information in an email or provide personal information after clicking on an email link. Types of Internet related scams such as these often rear their ugly heads in South Africa and the criminals behind them are getting sharper and making things look more legitimate. By refusing to submit personal information such as bank account details, PIN numbers and telephone numbers you can be certain you will avoid being caught.

Essentially these phishing scam criminals are sending emails to large numbers of people and a surprising amount of victims do actually fall for it and get tricked into submitting personal details. The reason being that some of the mails are very professionally created and look exactly like they have been sent by the major South African banks such as FNB, Nedbank, Absa and Standard Bank. What these criminals do with your personal details once they have them varies according to the types of crimes online they are involved with.

Some of them may phone you if you have provided them with your telephone number and may pretend to be a bank official trying to con you into supplying more of your personal details such as PIN numbers etc. If they get a hold of your bank account details they may contact you to pretend they have deposited a certain amount of money into your account by mistake. You are then requested to pay the money back to them only to find out later that the deposit they claimed to have made was in fact fraudulent even though it may have reflected on your account! These are just a few brief and common methods criminals use after sending out the latest phising scam, there are many others.

After describing some common pregnancy symptoms recently we decided to offer some more information on a couple of the issues that pregnant women have to deal with and a few words of advice in dealing with them. Mood swings are common due to raging hormones and PMS type outbursts can leave you ecstatic the one minute and in tears the next! Anxiety about the birth and disturbed sleep, as well as worries about how you will cope as a mother are enough to give any expectant mum the blues. Exercise is a great way to heighten your mood and get the ‘feel good’ endorphins flowing. Regular meals to keep blood sugar levels stable and swapping sugary sweets and chocolate with wholesome alternatives will help as well as relaxation and regular treats.

Many women experience pregnancy symptoms such as swollen legs and ankles which are caused by fluid retention and can get worse during hot weather or when standing for long periods of time. This can be helped by avoiding too much salt or processed ready made foods and meals. Drinking plenty of fluids on a daily basis and massaging your legs (or getting your partner to do it) from the ankle upwards will also help as well as soaking your feet in a bucket of cool water. Leafy vegetables, bananas and apricots should also help regulate your body’s fluid levels as they are rich in potassium.

Itchy skin is caused by the hormonal changes and in the summer this can feel worse and become almost unbearable. Take regular cool baths or showers in the hot summer months and wear lightweight clothes made from natural fabrics in order to allow your skin to breathe. Calamine lotion can help ease the itchiness when applied to the areas in question and try to use unscented soaps and bath products instead of fragranced ones. If severe itching persists, especially during the third trimester and on the hands and feet, make an appointment with your local doctor to have it looked at. Hopefully between the two articles of information we have covered the most common pregnancy symptoms that mum’s to be experience and you have found our tips and advice useful.

Symptoms of pregnancy differ from one woman to the next and you will be extremely fortunate to sail through without a niggle here and there but there are many ways to deal with the aches and pains to boost your well being. The first 12 weeks usually sees the early morning sickness experience, not nice as those who have experienced will testify. Eating toast in bed in the mornings can help raise blood sugar levels, fruit may freshen your palate and ginger tea can help with the queasiness. Over tiredness makes the morning sickness experience worse so get lots of rest and if you are vomiting persistently, best to make an appointment with your local doctor.

Among the other common symptoms of pregnancy experienced is backache and pains which is largely due to the extra weight being carried. Posture and stretching excersises are good for easing aching muscles and gentle excercise such as walking or swimming will help to keep the spine flexible. Warm baths and gentle back massages can assist in relieving the aches experienced when pregnant. If your back pain is extreme and persistent than it is advisable to make an appointment with a local physio who will help and advise with your specific problem and area of pain.

Heartburn is another one, that horrible burning sensation experienced in the chest area caused by those pregnancy hormones. Tips to help cure heartburn include avoiding rich, high fat, spicy or acidic foods, chocolate and coffee. Eating smaller meals and eating a little often can help in giving the stomach less time to build up acid. Sipping peppermint tea can help and Gaviscon is safe for most people to take although get the all clear from your local doctor first. If you experience heartburn worse at night time, avoid eating three hours before going to sleep and try to sleep in a slightly elevated position to help keep stomach acids down. There are many other common symptoms of pregnancy that women experience which we will cover in the near future.

Mosquito bites are common in South Africa and prevention of getting bitten is better than cure but there are treatments available for those who have a few or are covered in bites. There is no malaria to worry about in this country as the buzzing little insects throughout SA are not carriers of the disease. Swamps, dams, marshy areas, rivers and just about anywhere there is water and often an abundance of trees are the kind of places that mosquito’s breed and are found in their millions! Camping for example will put you within their blood sucking range and prevention is advised if you are going to be staying on a camp site anywhere near water.

Types of mosquito bite preventions include netted clothing (not very fashionable at the moment) or various creams and sprays that can be applied safely to the skin on the body. The sprays and creams must be used with caution on young children and women and not be sprayed on the face, inhaled or rubbed anywhere near the eyes. Most good prevention treatments will last between 8-10 hours assuring you of a reasonable nights sleep if you are out at night in the bush on safari for example. A natural repellent used worldwide with good success to stop mosquito’s in their tracks is lemon eucalyptus oil. However, lemon eucalyptus oil is not recommended for use on children under the age of four years old.

Treatments to cure mosquito bites if they have occurred may depend on how severe the bites and the type of reaction that has been experienced. For example if heart palpitations and swelling in places other than where the bite is located are experienced then emergency medical treatment needs to be sought quickly. If you have been bitten many times then using antihistamine cream such as Antisan will help when applied only to the affected areas. A simple cold shower can help relieve swelling and the itching feeling for a while but there are some good creams available that will stop the annoying itch of most mosquito bites.

Laser hair treatment offers breakthrough solutions for people who are either suffering from the loss of hair or are looking to remove it from areas of the body where it may be unwanted such as on the back, shoulders or legs. Both men and women are experiencing the benefits of this modern solution and shaving, waxing or unsightly hair plugs and transplants or wigs could quite easily become a thing of the past as the options here become more popular and advanced.

Every potential patient has to be evaluated before laser hair treatment is carried out so that exact needs and objectives can be identified and a program put together and offered. For example many people suffering from the loss of hair on the head could be affected by things such as thyroid disease, diabetes or on certain medications. Male pattern Baldness (MPB) is commonly experienced in men all over the world and genetically related usually. Breakthrough technologies are slowly being discovered that will give people options and solutions to help stop this if it bothers them.

People everywhere, men and women have hair growing in places that they do not want it. Having it removed permanently and the follicles killed off with laser surgery instead of always having to wax or shave is an option that many will be pleased to pay for and speaking of price, should become cheaper with time. In all cases it is advisable to seek the advice of a local doctor and perhaps get recommendations to the clinic where one can be evaluated. Experts need to interview and run tests to identify specific solutions for people who are looking to gain or remove hair with the latest laser hair treatment solutions available.

Looking for job opportunities in Cape Town, Durban, Johannesburg, Port Elizabeth and elsewhere in South Africa can become a job in itself. There are many ways to find work that will suit you and one of the most popular methods of looking for good employment these days is online. With many recruitment agencies having useful websites there is a lot of positions being advertised over the web on a regular basis offering work in thousands of categories and in all parts of the country. Probably one of the biggest websites available online for those looking for temporary or permanent employment via the Internet is Gumtree Jobs.

Those looking for job opportunities can also try the local newspapers. Your local paper will usually have a separate section that advertises various positions available at different companies in and around the area in which you live. Working at a company close to where you live is often preferred over getting employment at a company that requires driving long distances for. Students and teenagers looking for casual work in the holidays may have some success by physically going to a restaurant or hotel for instance and requesting an application form to be put on a waiting list for when a position becomes available.

There are many ways to find employment as long as you are prepared to dig a little. Get the word out to family and friends, tell everyone you know that you need work for the holidays or on a permanent basis and you never know what may come of that. Often things happen and doors open for you because a friend of a friends Dad was looking to employ someone for example. Be patient and stay positive, don’t be too fussy but also don’t accept an offer that involves working in a position you will not be happy in. With a little research you will find that looking for job opportunities is not as hard as you first thought.
